Københavns Universitet har oprettet en ny masteruddannelse i global udvikling. Den engelsksprogede uddannelse har specielt fokus på markedsøkonomi og dens samspil med kultur, organisationer og institutioner.

Globalisation has radically changed the way people live all over the world. Massive economic growth in the emerging markets and other economies has lifted billions of people out of poverty while many continue to live in poor conditions.

The MSc (master-programmet) in Global Development provides graduates with the qualifications required to understand, analyse and act in this new and globalised world.

The graduates acquire new expertise within the field of social sciences. An expertise where the analysis and understanding of the incentive structures and driving forces of market economies is combined with an understanding of culturally determined perceptions, organisations and institutions.

This combination of academic disciplines focuses on how markets and market behaviour influence development in societies and cultures worldwide.

As a student, you will be part of an international and vibrant study environment at the campus for social sciences at the University of Copenhagen, located near the city centre.

The MSc in Global Development is a two-year programme taught in English.

The first year comprises six compulsory courses followed by a field course in a low or middle-income country. During the second year, students are free to compose their study programme as they wish, ending with a master’s thesis.
