The World Bank plans to extend some 3,5 billion US dollar in financial assistance to Peru between 2007 and 2011, to support the economic development of the country, according to media reports.
The World Bank will extend some 700 million dollar annually. The loan is part of the Banks new Country Partnership Strategy for Peru. The program is built upon the strategic pillars to support Perus efforts to increase economic growth and competitiveness, reduce poverty and inequality, and strengthen the countrys public institutions.
