TID: Torsdag d. 31. oktober kl. 15.00-16.30

STED: KVINFOs bibliotek, Christians Brygge 3, 1219 København K.

On the 31st October 2013 KVINFO has the pleasure of presenting Kevin Bales to talk on modern slavery and in what ways slavery affects men and women in the world today and in what industries and sectors is slavery common?

How do we fight slavery in a global economy, how do we fight trafficking from poor to rich nations and how can we strengthen the individual rights of both men and women to ensure true emancipation?

Kevin Bales has a Ph.D from the London School of Economics and author to, among other publications, “Disposable People: New Slavery in the Global Economy” which was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize.

Kevin Bales is also a co-founder of the organization Free the Slaves – an organisation dedicated to ending slavery worldwide.

Registration is not necessary.

The meeting will take place in English.
