INTRAC presentation of Danida study on: “Support to Civil Society through Multi-donor funds”.

BACKGROUND

NGO Forum, Globale Tendenser and Fagligt Fokus invites to a presentation of the Danida study “Support to Civil Society through Multi-donor funds”.

The study was commissioned by Danida as a follow up to the Evaluation of the Civil Society Strategy (CSS), and the final report has been submitted to Danida in late November (and will soon be published).

Presentation of findings and recommendations:

The study has been conducted by the INTRAC consultants Cowan Coventry and Clare Moberly, who were also involved in the CSS-evaluation. The Study has included two countries in Bangladesh and Tanzania.

The study will inevitably have an impact on the ongoing formulation of Danida’s civil society policy. We have been so fortunate that the two consultants have accepted our invitation to present their key findings and recommendations.

Process to develop ‘Guidance note’:

In addition to the study the assignment also includes that the INTRAC consultants shall also prepare a so-called Guidance Note. The Guidance note is intended to give directions for Danida and the Embassies for future use of multi-donor Funds.

We would like the consultants to present their ideas for the Guidance note, and how they can involve the CSOs in the process.

PROGRAMME

1. The background for the Danida study on Multi donor pooled funds / Søren Asboe Jørgensen, CISU

2. Presentation: Findings from the Country studies (Bangladesh and Tanzania) / Clare Moberly, INTRAC

4. Debate in groups, followed by a plenary debate.
