FOLOWING THE MOST comprehensive global consultation process ever undertaken by the UN system on the priorities for the next development agenda, attention is now shifting to the critical issue of means of implementation.
Financing for development is of course central to this discussion.
Domestic revenue mobilization (oprustning af de nationale indtægtskilder) is likely to be placed in front of this discussion. At the same time, it will be necessary to address the increasing complexity of the development financing landscape.
Over the past decade, there has been a proliferation of development players, fund and financing instruments, which has led to a complex and uncoordinated (non)-system for development financing.
In the post-2015 period, there will be a need to reduce the number of interfaces governments have to deal with to ensure efficiency and to maximize existing funding sources and new opportunities for sustainable development.
Yannick Glemarec, Head of UN Multi-Partner Trust Fund Office, and former Executive Coordinator of the UN Global Environment Facility (GEF), will share the current thinking on financing for development in the on-going work of the Expert Group on Financing and in the UN Task Team on post-2015.
The event is part of a series of post-2015 seminars organised by UNDP Nordic Office to promote engagement and an informed debate about the next development framework.

About Dr. Yannick Glemarec
Yannick Glemarec has close to 25 years of experience in fund administration and programme management for international development and climate change management.
Yannick joined the UN in 1989 and has held increasingly responsible positions with UNDP Country Offices in Vietnam, China and Bangladesh.
He was appointed Executive for the UNDP Multi-Partner Trust Fund Office in February 2013 after serving as UNDP Executive Coordinator for the Global Environment Facility (GEF) in New York for six years.
In his present capacity, he has primary responsibility for the administration of a 6,3 billion US dollar portfolio of over 100 Trust Funds and Joint Programmes.
He holds a PhD from the University of Paris in Environment Sciences, and two Master Degrees in Hydrology and in Business Administration, He has authored and co-authored several publications in the field of climate finance, renewable energy and natural disaster risk management.
