Embassies of African Union (AU) member states in Denmark are pleased to host an afternoon of cultural activities in Copenhagen, celebrating fifty years of cooperation on the continent.

Embassies of African Union (AU) member states in Denmark are pleased to host an afternoon of cultural activities in Copenhagen, celebrating fifty years of cooperation on the continent.
Despite challenges, countries across the continent are experiencing record high growth rates, significant progress in meeting the Millennium Development Goals of reduced poverty and African ownership of African challenges.
The event is supported by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and takes place on Sunday 20 October 2013, the day before a high level Africa Panel at the Global Green Growth Forum in Copenhagen.

13.30-14.30: FOOTBALL MATCH: a friendly battle of unions
Teams from Embassies of AU and EU member states in Denmark meet in a friendly match

15.30-17.30: RECEPTION with cultural programme
Short speeches, photo exhibition ‘From OAU to AU’, musical performance by Dawda Jobarteh – ‘Northern Light Gambian Night’, and opportunities for informal networking
VENUE: National Museum, 12 Frederiksholms Kanal – Festsalen
17.30-19.00: FILM SCREENING: presenting Afrowood Film Festival
Screening of African short films and presentation of Afrowood Film Festival, the first African film festival in Copenhagen
