20 Years after Genocide in Rwanda: Hopes and Challenges

Dr. Samuel Totten’s lecture, 20 Years after Genocide in Rwanda: Hopes and Challenges, is based on his work as a Fulbright Scholar in Rwanda, subsequent research he conducted in Rwanda, and his interactions with a host of survivors, many of whose personal stories appear in his book entitled We Cannot Forget: Interviews with Survivors of the 1994 Genocide in Rwanda (co-authored with Mr. Rafiki Ubaldo, a survivor of the 1994 genocide in Rwanda).

Among the issues he shall address vis-à-vis the post genocide society in Rwanda are memory, justice, reconciliation, and development, and politics thus providing a sense as to current situation in Rwanda today.
