UNICEF celebrates the 25 years of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) 

UNICEF invites interested media to attend events held at the UN City in Copenhagen.

15:00 – 16:00  “Activate Talk”  UNICEF Supply Division brings together three international voices in health and development to an Innovate for Children event.

They will share their views on how people, products and processes make a more equitable world for children.  

Our moderator is journalist Ida Ebbensgaard.  

Our panel experts are:

• Cansu Akarsu, an industrial designer who will provide insights into the impact of innovation and design from developing countries have on children, and how ideas from developing countries inspire innovation.

• Michel Jose Zaffran from World Health Organization, will speak about new vaccines and methods that can improve children’s health.

• Zachary Katz from the Clinton Health Access Initiative will focus on how innovation can bring decisions and research closer to the individual patient, and what it means for the treatment of infectious diseases.

16:00 – 18:00  Reception in the UN City
UNICEF Denmark will host several hundreds of guests at a reception at the UN City, including political leader, business leaders, Ambassadors, academic partners, other UN organizations.  Programme:

16:00-16:10: Caroline Henderson with guitarist will open the event

16:10-16:20: Welcome address by UNICEF Denmark Chairman, Alfred Josefsen, in conjunction with the President of UNICEF Denmark’s Children’s Panel, Sophie Worrall.

16:20-16:30: What has the CRC meant for the world’s children? Jesper Morch – former UNICEF Chief in Mozambique and an Observer in the UN working group responsible for the development of the CRC.

16:30-16:40: How can innovation create a better world for children? Kristoffer Gandrup – Marino, Head of Innovation Team, UNICEF Supply Division

16:40-16:50 ‘Pharfar’ will perform and close the event
