The Waka Waka Festival is an annual event which has taken place since 2011 in Denmark. The Festival celebrates African culture in its diversity – music, dance and fashion. Every year it has attracted between 1000-3000 guests. For the upcoming festival we expect even more.

With the festival we would like to bring together children, youth, adults and older people from all over Denmark, regardless of cultural or ethnic background. In addition, the festival attracts many tourists every year.

Through music and art, the festival creates close ties and friendships between people from different cultures, which helps to give people a better understanding of each other's differences, so these can be seen as a strength rather than a barrier.
