New Project Coordinator for Nordic activities and communication at the Nordic Institute of Asian Studies (NIAS), based in Copenhagen

Katrine Herold started as new Project Coordinator at NIAS on 1.12.2008. She is a qualified M.A. in Chinese studies and comes from a position in the Danish Trade Council where she worked with Danish export promotion activities around the world. Before that she was a student assistant for six years in SFI Survey at the Danish National Centre for Social Research.

Katrine Herold replaces Martin Bech who has taken up a position as the new Programme Manager at the Nordic Centre at Fudan University. He moved to Shanghai with his family to take up the new challenge last week. Martin Bech has been active in organizing a variety of activities with our Nordic partners, not least our conferences and research training activities.

He has initiated a number of new initiatives and his work has been highly appreciated by our partners. While NIAS are sorry to say goodbye, “we are confident that our partners in the Nordic Centre Fudan will benefit from Martin Bechs unique Nordic competences and experiences”.
