Job: Student Assistant to the Education Out Loud team



Education Out Loud (EOL) is the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) fund for advocacy and social accountability. EOL provides support for civil society to become active and influential in shaping education policy to better meet the needs of communities, especially the most marginalized.

EOL aims to promote inclusive, gender responsive and equitable national education policies and systems through enhanced civil society capacities and participation in social accountability and policy advocacy processes. As part of this, EOL also seeks to create an enabling transnational environment for civil society advocacy and transparency efforts in education.

Managed by Oxfam Denmark and financed by the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) since 2019, EOL is the biggest fund in the world for education advocacy with grants awarded to close to 80 organizations in more than 60 countries. In total GPE Board of Directors have approved funding of EOL to USD133 million with funding of the current app. 80 grantees running up to end 2026.

What is this position about?

The EOL team consist of around 30 staff members in five locations: a Global Management Unit (GMU) based in Copenhagen, and Regional Management Units (RMUs) in Dakar, Uganda, Nepal and Guatemala. As student assistant, you will part of the Global Management Unit (GMU) together with ten colleagues, including one other student assistant.

Your roles and responsibilities:

  • Provide support to GMU colleagues in a wide variety of tasks related to admin, programme and communication.
  • Provide technical support in maintaining various databases such as BOX, the EOL intranet and learning platform, including managing a comprehensive database of EOL projects.
  • Support communication efforts, including website maintenances, writing articles, assisting grantees in contributing to the website, setting up expert meetings, and develop presentations and information material.
  • Assist in collecting and analyzing education policy related information from the countries and partners that we work with, including analysis and learning from grantee implementation.
  • Support in rolling out and operationalizing the EOL Learning Framework.
  • Provide assistance in maintaining EOL’s Project Cycle Management Systems (PCMS), guide EOL staff on document uploading/storing procedures, and aid in transitioning content from the current platform to a new one.
  • Engage in other daily ad-hoc tasks.

The position will be for up to 15 to 20 hours/week with flexibility on offices days, allowing for class attendance, exams and other responsibilities outside of EOL.

Your qualifications:

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Is enrolled in higher education, preferably at BA level and with expectations to continue with an MA in a relevant field.
  • Is excited about being a part of an international confederation that works to fight inequality, and sees themself as committed to be part of the EOL team for a significant period of their study time.
  • Has solid analytical and IT-skills. Strong Excel skills is an advantage. Knowledge of SharePoint and Teams is also highly relevant.
  • Has skills and experience in documentation and written communication.
  • Is fluent in English. Knowledge of French, Spanish, Portuguese, or Arabic would be an advantage.
  • Is energetic, curious, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Has a broad set of competencies and enjoys being involved in different types of tasks.
  • May have experience with development or humanitarian issues – perhaps from staying abroad in a lower- or middle-income country setting.

The position is permanent, pending relevant student enrolment.
