WASHINGTON, October 30, 2008 The World Bank Thursday approved a 350 million US Dollar credit to Bangladesh from the International Development Association. The credit is designed to increase reliable power during peak demand times in a country where poor supply is estimated to cost around 2 percent in GDP growth each year.
The Siddhirganj power plant is expected to begin operation in 2011 following the construction period.
