The African Development Bank (AfDB) has sufficient capital to lend to members over the next five years and will double annual lending to 11 billion US dollar (63,8 milliarder DKR) to help countries deal with the global downturn, AfDB President Donald Kaberuka has said.
Meanwhile, Zambia, Africas biggest copper producer, is in talks with the International Monetary Fund for loans of about 200 million dollar to help boost its foreign currency reserves after prices for the metal plunged.
