Senior Learning Experience Designer (full time and freelance)

DanChurchAid’s LearningLab is a specialised team of 10 professionals with different fields of expertise and educational backgrounds. We have at least one thing in common; we share a passion for learning, innovation and making a difference. Every project we do helps to change the lives of people in the poorest and most conflict ridden countries in the world. If you share this passion – keep reading!

We are seeking Learning Experience Designers, fulltime and/or freelancers, with strong skillsets within communication and adult and blended learning. No matter your professional background, a passion for learning and writing (in English) to various media platforms and for different audiences is key.

Our team is dynamic, ambitious and collaborative – we support capacity development of frontline humanitarian and development professionals and we empower vulnerable groups directly through capacity development and innovative (blended) learning solutions. We work across our organisation (HQ and country offices), within our ACT Alliance but we also work with many external partners. We constantly seek new inspiration and test new methods and technologies to ensure that we deliver high-quality solutions based on innovative thinking and evidence based analysis. Our ambition is to be cutting-edge in efficient and effective learning experiences.

You will in collaboration with team colleagues and involved stakeholders create learning processes and experiences that maximize the relevance for the learner including the right objectives, the right content, the right style and media and seeking the right timing. One of your critical roles in the development process is to transform content and concepts into written text for the various digital learning materials. Openness and the ability to embrace and engage in change and feedback processes will be essential for you in a working environment where we are constantly seeking to improve our approaches and engage the end-users in the design processes. Research and evidence-based approaches are key for our way of innovating and we are moving from classic training events to innovative learning processes including integration of campaign-like thinking and micro-learning.

Your main tasks will be:

  • Copywriting for different types of learning materials: training videos, eLearning, websites, Moodle courses, printed materials, etc.
  • Concept development of learning materials together with subject matter experts, project leads, interaction designers, external partners and the communities we seek to assist.
  • Depending on experiences and interests: leading/conducting research to improve our learning designs and methodologies.
  • Depending on experiences and interests: leading/developing our external communication and marketing.
  • Opportunity to use other relevant talents that can move us forward.

You bring with you:

  • 5+ years of proven experience with copywriting to various platforms, digital training/learning and communication (attach script examples, mock ups and references to the application).
  • An educational background in education, communication or other relevant field.
  • It’s required that you have a high proficiency in especially written English. A working knowledge of Danish, Spanish, Arabic or French will be an advantage (but not essential).
  • Proven project management experience, strong communication and collaboration skills and ability to navigate in an innovative and ever changing environment with many stakeholders.
  • Advantage: Didactical and adult pedagogical understanding and ability to design learning experiences based on evidence and best practice.
  • Advantage: Experience with Moodle/Adobe Connect/Storyline/Adapt, video production, other Adobe software etc.
  • Advantage: Experience from the development and humanitarian sector
