Are you interested in working for DanChurchAid (DCA) and Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) in Myanmar? You will be working as Global Fundraiser to support the work of the DCA-NCA Joint Country Programme and partners in Myanmar. The Joint Country Programme is led by DCA, and you will be on contract with DCA, while maintaining some communication with the NCA head office in Oslo. The Junior Professional Officer (JPO) will be based in Yangon with some travels to Thailand.

DCA-NCA Myanmar is working with local partners to assist the poorest of the poor with a focus on contributing to a vibrant, well-informed and active civil society, improving livelihoods and job opportunities, empowering women and ethnic minorities, strengthening the ability to prepare for and recover from natural disasters and conflict, improving livelihoods and resilience, and providing humanitarian assistance. Our development and humanitarian projects are part of long term programmes and depend on a variety of donors, incl. Danida, NORAD, ECHO and EuropeAid.

Challenging work day
Your work will consist of various tasks in relation to donors and funding opportunities, such as proposal development with local partners and DCA-NCA staff, mapping and monitoring of funding opportunities, and ensuring grant management overview. There will be meetings and networking with other agencies and donors in relation to funding opportunities, and you will be assisting with contract negotiations. Your will refer directly to the Head of Programme in Myanmar. You will liaise with and have frequent communication with Global Funding Unit in Denmark as well as the funding advisor and technical advisors at NCA head office.

You will be given substantial responsibility within the proposal writing as well as follow-up and reporting of projects in close cooperation with partner organisations and other DCA staff in the region.

Your profile
You are an outgoing, results-oriented and proactive self-starter having a relevant university degree. You have up to 3 years relevant work experience, preferably in some of the above focus areas, and knowledge of fundraising and donor relations. Knowledge of EC funding instruments is an asset.

You have experience in developing projects and writing proposals and reports for donors. You are able to synthesize and analyse complex and comprehensive data. You can work effectively in a complex work environment, set priorities and deal with numerous simultaneous tasks and deadlines. You are confident in the role as facilitator with excellent communication, coordination and problem solving skills, able to adapt to a multi-cultural environment, and fluent in written and spoken English, and a Scandinavian language to be able to handle Scandinavian language in-country donors, funding calls, reporting and any Scandinavian media contacts delegated to you.

DCA offers
A two-year contract starting February 2017 with three weeks of initial training in Copenhagen and a 2-day briefing in Oslo. The salary for a JPO is DKK 16,209. – (approx. € 2177.-) per month including pension. Insurance, paid roundtrips and modest accommodation will be provided.
