RIKO proudly presents “the Revolution from a Civilian Perspective”. This is the first event in a series of three seminars focusing on the different perspectives and layers in the Syrian conflict and on how different actors can have an impact.

What happened five years ago at the beginning of the uprising in Syria?
What role did civil society play?
How did non-violence work as a tool?

To give you a civilian perspective on the revolution RIKO has invited Zakariya Zaqrit, whom will give you an insight into his personal experiences as an active civilian at the start of the revolution in Syria.

Zakariya will focus on his time in Syria before and during the revolution, his impressions of the situation in Syria when he was there, and what it meant to take active part in the revolution.

The seminar will begin with an introduction to the topic by RIKO. Thereafter Zakariya will do a presentation including showing a short video from Syria.

There will be a lot of time during the seminar to ask questions from the audience.
