Bernhard Michael Bierlich.

I hold a PhD in Social Anthropology from the University of Cambridge, with 30 years of research, consultancies and publications in and on Ghana and the Eastern Caribbean.

I have taught as an Assistant and Associate Professor in departments of Sociology & Anthropology and Education at Israeli universities for 17 years. I have also held various temporary positions at the universities of Hull, Cambridge, and Copenhagen.

I have worked in various European archives, especially in Denmark, the UK and France, on the medical history of the slave trade. My most recent book, Crossing Boundaries: When a Voyage Becomes so Much More, is an anthropological fiction of the slave trade and forthcoming with Pegasus Publishers in Cambridge, UK.

Since 2014, I have been affiliated with a Caribbean NGO in St. Croix.
