Program for små og mellemstore virksomheder i Afrika begunstiges af Verdensbanken

Over 400 million US dollar (2,45 mia. DKR) in loans has been secured by small and medium business enterprises in Africa through the World Bank African Project Development Facility (APDF), reports the World Bank press review Wednesday.

APDF business development officer M. Kibirige said that the
project has promoted over 500 projects in Africa. In Uganda it has trained over 1.000 personnel in the banking and business sectors.

Meanwhile, the World Bank has provided the Ugandan government with a loan of 57 million US dollar to promote the private sector in the east African country, local media reported on Wednesday. Uganda National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UNCCI) official Fredrick Anyine said the loan would be used to boost micro and medium enterprises in rural areas.
